Hello, I'm Sofia
I manage projects, I’m a parent, and I’m an expat based in Madrid, Spain.
A few years back I moved here with my family, and what began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
Where It Began
Moving to Spain wasn't in the long-range plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something much larger.
The first few months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that worked for us, met other families, and started building something that felt steady.
Why I Built OpyrYfozApesOapu
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Spain.
What This Website Stands For (And What It Doesn't)
This site is:
- Practical insights from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something meaningful changes
This site isn’t:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- Just another travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Spain continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll keep documenting what we learn.
If you have questions about life with family in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sofia
